Sasha Drutskoy Belgian, b. 1963

Biography

Sasha Drutskoy, born in 1963 in London, is a British-Russian contemporary painter who lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. He is known for his poetic and dreamlike paintings that explore the relationship between humanity, nature, and the unconscious.

Drutskoy studied drawing and painting in Brussels from 1985 to 1989, where he received a traditional artistic education that laid the foundation for his refined pictorial style. His work blends elements of romanticism and surrealism, often depicting quiet landscapes, mysterious figures, and timeless atmospheres.

Through his paintings, Drutskoy seeks to express a delicate balance between reality and imagination. Using classical techniques, he creates scenes that seem to exist outside of time—spaces filled with silence, reflection, and emotional depth.

Over the years, he has exhibited his work regularly in Belgium and abroad, becoming recognized for his ability to combine technical mastery with poetic sensitivity. His large-scale oil paintings, such as Arcadia (2017) and Big Nursery(2021), reveal his ongoing interest in narrative, spatial composition, and the subtle beauty of human presence within natural settings.

Today, Sasha Drutskoy continues to paint and exhibit internationally, maintaining a unique artistic voice that bridges tradition and modernity, and invites viewers into a world where dream and reality merge.
