For the second participation at ArtMonte-Carlo, Galerie Retelet has decided to celebrate three events that happened in 2023.
The first of them is the 125th anniversary of Surrealit artist René Magritte that we have highlightened by organizing our second solo show of the artist in the gallery.
It is also the 30th anniversary of the death of Marcel Mariën that was a close friend of René Magritte and that will have a solo show later this year. Finally the MUDAM in Luxembourg have organised a great exhibition of the American artist Peter Halley.
Therefore, the booth will present for the first time on the market three artworks of Marcel Mariën from the "Mondrianité" series. It is probably one of the most beautiful series of objects by the artist and showing three of those artworks have never happened before.
Those artworks will reminds the colors and composiiton of a large canvas by Peter Halley that will be the highlight of the booth.
Different artworks by Magritte will be also exhibited as a reminder of our show.
This selection of artworks will be enlarged with piece by important modern and contemporary artist such as Marc Chagall, Diego Giacometti, Joan Miro, Frank Stella, Tom Wesselman and David Hockney.
