Pol Bury


After brief studies at the Académie des Beaux-Arts of Mons between 1938 and 1939, he frequented the circle of the Belgian Surrealist of La Louvière and was influenced by the paintings of René Magritte and Yves Tanguy. In 1945, he participated in the « Exposition Internationale du Surréalisme » in Brussels. In 1949-53 he started to paint geometrical abstract pictures and was associated with the COBRA group.
